Hey everybody! My name is Natalie, I'm on my second year at WSU right now and I'm a Math major with the Actuarial Option. Since almost nobody knows what that is, I have added two YouTube videos about what Actuaries are and what they do. I graduated high school in 2010, and graduated Skagit Valley College in 2012 with my Direct Transfer Degree (DTA) and I hope to graduate WSU in the Spring of 2015 with a Bachelor's in Mathematics, Actuarial option.

awards and ribbons for showing sheep
through FFA.
I come from a small town on the west side of Washington that hardly anybody has ever heard of (Sedro-Woolley), and I absolutely loved growing up there. Skagit county is an agricultural community, so in high school I joined the FFA organization and learned a lot about my community and the people that strive to make it great. I participated in numerous activities through FFA including showing and selling sheep at the local fair, competing in Logging Rodeo (yes, in high school), Trapshooting and many others. Growing up in a small town like Sedro-Woolley gave me many opportunities to expand my horizons that I wouldn't otherwise have had.

Currently, my hobbies and interests include hanging out with my friends and playing games, cooking, listening to music, and watching TV. Unfortunately, my life is pretty boring compared to some of my fellow peers at WSU, but with as much homework as I have on a regular basis and working an average of 25-30 hours a week, I don't really have much free time to do a lot of other fun things. I do also enjoy singing, and used to sing Sweet Adeline's/Barbershop style music with groups. I've also included a YouTube video of one of the quartets that performed in our showcase that represents the classic barbershop styling.

Traveling has always been a huge passion for me, and I hope to one day be able to travel all over the world. In High School I was a part of the Travel Club, and raised money to travel to Europe for 4 weeks. We visited France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, and Turkey and I absolutely loved it. My love of traveling comes from taking summer road trips with my Mom and sister when I was younger. Every summer we would take trips and camp along the way, and through that I have visited roughly half of the United States and have gotten to see interesting national landmarks along the way such as the grave sights of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and Davy Crockett, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, St. Augustine, the Statue of Liberty, the Alamo, and more. Eventually, I would like to be able to visit a majority of the countries in the world and see some of the wonders of the world such as Stonehenge, the Great Pyramids, Taj Mahal, Great Wall of China, and the ruins of the Mayans.

I have a lot of interests and hobbies, these are just a few that have made an impact on my life.
